The project
Rebuilding the affected ceiling while retaining a dense services layout.
One side of the existing MF bulkhead had failed at its anchor points. The affected section needed to be opened up and renewed while working around lighting tracks, ventilation equipment, cabling and the café fit-out below.
The scope
- Protect the counters, equipment and retained finishes below
- Open up and remove the affected bulkhead ceiling section
- Retain and carefully manage existing services through the work area
- Set out and install a replacement MF ceiling framework
- Form the bulkhead around lighting tracks, ventilation and cable routes
- Fix new plasterboard to the replacement framework
- Prepare the renewed ceiling for its final decorative finish
The result
The affected ceiling area was rebuilt with a new metal furring framework and boarded to restore a continuous bulkhead around the café’s existing services and fittings.
