The project
Targeted improvements to thermal comfort and sound insulation.
The works covered two areas of the property: an insulated internal lining upgrade around the bay window and an additional acoustic ceiling lining in the bedroom. British Gypsum GypLyner lining and MF ceiling components were used as part of the works.
Bay-window thermal upgrade
The bay-window area was opened up and prepared for additional insulation and new internal linings. The photographs show foil-faced insulation fitted around the window surrounds and below the glazing, followed by boarding, making good and decoration. The work was intended to reduce localised heat loss and improve the surface temperature of the affected bay-window area.
Bedroom acoustic ceiling lining
An additional plasterboard ceiling lining was installed using an MF metal ceiling framework as part of the bedroom sound-insulation upgrade. The installation was boarded, the joints and fixings were finished, and the ceiling was prepared and decorated to match the room.
The result
Both areas were reinstated with a clean decorative finish. The photo sequences below separate the original condition, installation stages and completed work for each area.
